Digital I/O Module
has two modes of operation: multiplexer and parallel mode. The first mode allows one DAQ instrument to read 32-bit digital patterns from the information register of one or more SCXI module through the SCXIbus by utilizing a serial data protocol. This mode can utilize five DIO lines of the DAQ instrument at the most. However, parallel mode links every module straight to a digital I/O DAQ device. These devices include: 503 (DIO-24), 6533 (DIO-32HS), 6534, and 6508 (DIO-96).
