INA firemark in original condition. Unknown age. It appears to be cast lead(soft shiny silver metal). There is a scratch on the back and the metal can be seen. The "INA"And "1792" part of the plaque have faded over time but can still be faintly seen. The condition can be clearly seen in the pictures. It has age, fading and some color loss. Insurance Company of North America began selling fire insurance in Philadelphia in 1792. The company offered a plaque to be hung on the exterior of your home to advertise the company and show fire brigades that you have fire insurance. Fire marks are incredibly collectible to insurance, firefighter, American history collectors and people decorating historic homes.
